Kofax VRS Elite Licensing Tiers

Three license tiers of Kofax VRS Elite are available to match the speed and interface of your scanner:

High-Volume Scanners (typically 90 ppm or faster)

  • Kofax VRS Elite Production for USB/SCSI/FireWire scanners

Low-Volume Scanners (typically 35 ppm to 90 ppm)

  • Kofax VRS Elite Workgroup for USB/SCSI/FireWire scanners

Desktop Scanners (typically 10 ppm to 35 ppm)

  • Kofax VRS Elite Desktop for USB/FireWire and SCSI scanners

Please note that occasionally Kofax categorizes scanners differently than do their manufacturers (i.e., what a manufacturer calls a Workgroup scanner we may classify as a Desktop model, what a manufacturer calls a Production scanner we may classify as a Workgroup scanner).

The Production and Workgroup versions of Kofax VRS Elite include all the functionality of the Desktop version, plus EBC (Enhanced Bar Code) at runtime capabilities. All versions of Elite include AIPE (Adrenaline Image Processing Engine) licensing for Image Controls based applications.
