Service Alert: Pont Pierre-Laporte

To Our Valued Customers,

Over the summer months, major construction work will be taking place on the Pierre-Laporte bridge in Quebec City, which is the primary bridge connecting Quebec City to the south shore of the area. According to officials, the work will take place over two 10-day periods from June 27th to July 7th and from August 8th until August 18th. This construction will cause major delays crossing the bridge in both directions.

We are taking this time to advise our customers to plan accordingly as our service commitments may be impacted during this period. As always, the team at GLS will do our best to maintain our service given these circumstances.

The following is applicable in and around the construction period in order to help minimize disruptions to your supply chain.

Delays in Transit

An extra day in transit should be expected for shipments from Ontario being delivered to points on the south shore of Quebec City. Some shipments originating in the province of Quebec may also experience an additional day in transit. Updates to Pickup Schedules

Given the situation, all pickups on the south shore of Quebec City must be placed before noon to ensure the highest likelihood of same-day pickup. Pickups placed after 12pm may be automatically scheduled for the follow day.

While we will do our best to maintain your service expectations, appointment times and other regular services may be impacted during this time.

Any additional updates will always be published to our website www.gls-canada.com

We appreciate your loyalty and the trust you place in GLS.

Thank you for your patience.
